Testimonials

Dear MDA Donor:

We gratefully acknowledge your thoughtful gift of $100 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Gary McCahill. Acknowledgement of your gift has been sent to the family.

Your support will help the Association continue to provide vital services to maintain the health and independence of persons affected by muscle disorders while MDA-supported researchers seek treatments or cures for those diseases. You’re helping to provide vital services like diagnostic and follow-up care at 230 hospital-affiliated MDA clinics nationwide; physical, occupational, and respiratory therapy consultations; support group programs; assistance with the purchase and repair of wheelchairs, leg braces and communication devices; summer camps for some 4,200 youngsters; and much more.

On the research front, you’re helping the Association continue rapid progress in the search for cures and treatments for the over 40 neuromuscular diseases in our program. As a world leader in genetics research, MDA has continued its pace-setting progress toward developing effective ways to replace defective genes with intact ones, or otherwise reverse the neuromuscular disease process.

On behalf of children and adults served by MDA, I extend heartfelt appreciation for your support of our lifesaving mission.

Sincerely,

Daniel Marquis
District Director

Dear Keane Foundation Supporter,

Thank you for your support for the recent Silas W. Robbins House Tour. The tour was incredibly successful, and the numbers have been overwhelming... over 4,700 people visited the house over the 10 days to enjoy the beautiful architecture and carpentry, as well as the lavish decorations completed by local craftsmen and designers. The Keane Foundation has realized almost $100,000.00 as a result of the efforts of over 50 planning committee members and 450 volunteer docents guiding visitors through the home.

The opening Preview Gala under the tent, attended by Governor M. Jodi Rell and 150 very fortunate partygoers (there was a waiting list to attend) was an elegant event reminiscent of the grand Victorian era with stylish clothing and a delicious dinner by Carbones Ristorante of Hartford.

Tours continued through the week, enhanced daily by lunches prepared by The Creamery and Mainly Tea, and with boutiques by Lynn Barry of The Gift Closet of 960 Main in Hartford and Leslie Watson of The Hartford Hospital Institute of Living Auxiliary Shop.

In addition to High Tea provided by Mainly Tea at 3pm on Wednesday, an elegant Wine Tasting sponsored by Buy Rite Liquors and Ascot Catering was a final special event on Saturday night. Sunday, the final days of tours, was the busiest day of all, with over 700 visitors on a glorious fall day in Old Wethersfield.

Your support of the Keane Foundation is greatly appreciated, as it will directly benefit the creation of the 9/11 Memorial Sports Center for children and their families in the Wethersfield community.

Thank you so much for the discounted tent for our recent House Tour. The tent was beautiful and provided us a warm and inviting venue for all of our special events and lunches. Thank you again for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated.

Gratefully,

Ellen Spratlin, Chair and

Dear Chuck,
I wanted to send you a note of sincere thanks for the beautiful tent. My mother’s 75th birthday party was a very special occasion for us and it was really nice to have it outside and under such a beautiful canopy.

Many people commented on how nice it looked. I told them how careful your staff is when assembling and that they lay a tarp on the ground prior to set up to keep it clean. It was impressive to watch it being put up.

I made sure I told anyone who asked about the tent where it came from and I truly hope if any of my guests ever need one, they contact you.

I also can’t thank you enough for being so helpful and recommending the correct size tent and tables. You really know what you are doing!

If anyone ever asks for references, please feel free to tell them to call me. I would be more than happy to tell them of my great experience working with your company.

Sincerely,

Kathy Ann Roche

Dear Charlie,
On behalf of the Blessing of the Animals Committee of this congregation and the 140 people that attended our Celebration of Animals event on Sunday, thank you for providing a 16x16 foot tent for our morning worship and program. It helped us to rest assured that should the weather become nasty, the event could go on as planned.

The tent was placed perfectly and right on time so the organizers could begin the final set up.

You have our deepest appreciation for this donation.

Kindest regards,

The Rev. Michael J. Ader
Interim Minister
